Conversations with a Sound Man book launch 18-11-2010
Conversations with a Sound Man, a new biographical book about sound designer James Currie, written by Andrew Zielinski, was launched on Saturday 13 November at Higher Ground Art Cafe in Light Square, Adelaide with more than 75 guests from SA’s film community in attendance.
James Currie is one of Australia’s most acclaimed film sound designers. He has worked on over 100 feature films in a three decade long career, winning four AFI and numerous international awards. He developed extensive working relationships with two of Australia’s most esteemed and innovative directors; Rolf de Heer and Paul Cox who both attended the launch and spoke warmly of James' friendship and contribution to their projects, providing great insights into their experiences and memories working alongside him.
